Married:
- Know all men by these presents, that we, Jacob Sutphin and Calvin Delong are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to the paid to said Commonwealth: to which payment well and truly be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, & c. joinly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals, and dated this 3 day of November 1846.The condition of the above obligation is such, that, whereas the above bound Jacob Sutphin hath this day obtained from the Clerk of the County Court of Floyd, a license for his marriage with Mary Delong daughter of Orman Delong of said county. If therefore, be no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage, then the above obligation to be void. Signed Jacob Sutphin and Calvin Delong.
Dated October 26, 1846 To the Clerk of Floyd County Court, You are hereby authorized and requested to issue license for the marriage of my daughter Mary Delong to Jacob Sutphin and oblige you. Signed, Orman Delong.
