Know all men by these presents that We Josias Viar and John Viar are held and firmly bound unto James Manson Esq. Governor or Chief Magistrate of the State of Virginia in the Sum of One hundred & fifty Dollars to which payment well and truly to be made We bind Ourselves and each of us, Our & each of our Heirs Executors and Admrs Jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with Our Seals & Dated this 2d Day of January 1800 {the date on the bond below should probably be 1801}
The Condition of this Obligation is Such that Whereas there is a marriage Shortly intended to be had & solemnized between the above bound Josias Viar & Rachel Hale now if there Shall be no lawful cause to Obstruct said marriage then this Obligation to be Void else remain in force.
