  	Obituary, Bluefield Daily Telegraph, 9 June 1973. Mrs. Effie Gray Thompson, 84, of 1210 Highland Ave. Bluefield, died Friday evening in a Bluefield hospital following a long illness. Born in Tazewell County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Ants and Cardelia Waddell Burress. She was a widow of Andy J. Thompson, a former Bluefield plumbing business owner. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church of Bluefield, and had been a resident of Bluefield since 1907. Surviving are two sons, Ralph W. Thompson and Alfred A. Thompson, both of Bluefield; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Mercer Funeral Home in Bluefield. With Rev. Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, Va. Friends may call at the funeral home tbday from 5 and 9 p.m.
