- Know all men by these presents, that we, Hardin Pack and John Pack are held and firmly bound unto, John Rutherford, Esq. Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and his successors, in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, to the payment thereof, well and truly be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals, and dated this 20 day of January 1842. The condition of the above obligation is such, that, whereas a marriage is intended to be solemnized between the above bound Hardin Pack and Maria Delong of Floyd County: New, if there be no lawful cause to obstruct the said marriage, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.
