  	Harrison Earls, age 69, of Route 1, Pounding Mill, was pronounced dead on arrival at a Richlands hospital, Saturday afternoon, June 5, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Tazewell County and was a son of the late Clarence Levi and Hannah Harrison Earls, both Tazewell County natives. He had been a life long resident of the Cliffield-Pounding Mill area.He was a retired miner, a former employee of the Clinchfield Coal Corp at Moss No. 2 Mine. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local Union No. 1098 at Clinchfield.He was a member of the Cliffield Christian Church. One son Ronald Earls, preceded him in death.Survivors include his wife, Edith Valentine Rasnake Earls; five daughters, Frances Earls of the home, Mrs. Randall (Hannah) Sluss of Centreville, Mrs. Benny (Deborah) Bandy of Route 1, Cedar Bluff, and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Lowe and Mrs. Charlie (Gussie) Hankins, both of Cedar Bluff; three sons, Donald Earls of Glen Burnie, MD. Harrison Earls, Jr. of Jessup MD and Robert C. (Bobby) Earls of Richlands; three sisters, Claudia Hankins of Route 1, Cedar Bluff and Ruth Smith and Gussie Butcher, both of Caretta WV; one brother, Benny Earls of Colorado Springs, Co. 11 Grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services were conducted Monday morning, June 7, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Glen Dudding officiating. Interment followed in the Harrison Cemetery at Cliffield. Pallbearers were: Kenneth Earls, Dorsey Lee Whitt, Bob Carner, Ralph Cochran, Jimmy Shannon, Monroe Pruett and Cecil Cox. Honorary pallbearers were: Dr. James H. McVey, Rev. Charles Guthrie, Carl Harrison and Joe Earls.
