  19 Dec 1968, Clinch Valley Newspaper Tazewell Virginia. Vernon Witten Burroughs, formerly of Tazewell, died at his home in Ft. Myers, Fla. on Dec 5 of a heart condition. He was 48 years of age. He was a son of the late George W. and Daisy Arnold Burroughs. He was affiliated with Krogers Stores in W. Va and Ohio until ill health forced his retirement two years ago. Mr. Burroughs was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Tammy Lee. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Randall Burroughs; one daughter, Brenda Burnett of Calf., one sister Mrs. J.P. Whitman of Tazewell and one brother, Lloyd of Portsmouth, Va.
