      Mrs. Robert F. (Virginia M.) Bennet, 69, of Thompson Valley, Tazewell County, died Sunday, July 5, in a Bluefield Hospital after a long illness. Born in East, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Rosie Griffith Burress. Survivors include her husband; one sone, Billy Brian Burress of California; six brothers, Oliver Titus Burress of Cedar Bluff, Henry Alvin Burress of Jewell Ridge, Frankie Burress of Tampa, FL, Harvey Burress of Martinsburg, Hobert Burress of Whitewood, and Carl Burress, address unknown; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Vance of Princeton and Mrs. Lila Dial of Baltimore, MD., and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, William Burress, Robert Burress, Clyde Burress and Thomas Burress. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 7, at 2pm at Peery-St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel, Tazewell, with Rev. Larry Carroll officiating. Burial followed in the Maplewood Cemetery, Tazewell. Pallbearers; Albert Buck Cornwell T.E. Bowling, Jr., Garland Smith, Tracy Billips, Hadley Lester and Fred Sword.
