Upon pet'n of Edward Jones who marryed ye sister of John Field dec'd. Order for Commission of Adm'n granted him on ye estate of ye said Decdt in his right as being next of kin to ye sd decd't.

Apparently Thomas died before his brother John, and had a will (now lost) which named his brother John executor and heir leaving him land, cattle, hides, cloth, books and household items and miscellaneous articles used on a farm of that period. John died before he could execute Thomas's will. Edward Jones (their brother in law) then petitioned the court to be the executor of both estates. Permission was granted and Edward and Mary then inherited the estate, both real and personal.

Link to Google MapsStealing - George Polgreen charged Tom Field Jr. with stealing his horse. Tom, who at that time was an adult, stated that he did not steal the horse, that John Davis (his step father) had bought the horse from Mr. Stitch & presented it to him. Unfortunately, Tom couldn't prove his case and lost the horse, but was not charged so there must have been truth to story. - 1687 - Henrico County, Virginia Link to Google Earth
