  	The mother of Joseph was either Alsey [Else] Tyler or another unnamed daughter of John Tyler.

  Jos. w/his brother Tyler were bound to his uncle Thomas Tyler to learn the trade of weaver. (Batchelder 81). Tho. Tyler owned land on both Smith's Is. in MD & Tangier Island in VA (the land of Smith's Island below the Boundary line bet. the 2 colonies.

  Listed in the household of his uncle Thomas Tyler. (Miller Tax Lists 1727, etc., 1744:4). The Tax List reads "Thomas Tyler, Joseph Crockett."

  Ordered that Joseph Crockett be appointed Constable on Tangier Islands. (Law Order Books)

  John Fish gave all of South Point, the whole patent belonging to me, to Joseph Crockett. He gave Spencer Tyler all his part of Hog Neck. Witnesses were Butler Tylor, Arthur Parkes, and Sarah Tylor (Acc Co Wills, 1761-1767, p. 608).
