- Mrs. Dolly Varney Miller, age 85, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (October 19, 2010) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born September 8, 1925 in Pikeville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Didema Honaker Miller. She had spent most of her life in the area and was a Christian, who enjoyed serving the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harding Miller, one son, Bobby Miller, one daughter, Darlene Bartemy, three brothers, Clyde Varney, Russell Varney, and Odell Bostic, and one sister, Christine Robinette. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include one daughter, Lorene Ball and husband, Jewell of Swords Creek; five sons, Julius Miller and wife, Betty of Meadowview, Eugene Miller and wife, Sue and Lee Miller and wife, Ida Gay all of Honaker, Wayne Miller and wife, Dottie of Swords Creek, and Donnell Miller and wife, Katie of Grundy; special caregivers, Beverly Fuller, Kim Miller, Debbie Vance, and Angela Viers; nineteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and five step-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Roger Phillips, Rev. Virgil Musick, and Rev. Eugene Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Brian Miller, Barry Miller, Mike Miller, Bobby Allen Miller, Mike Bartemy, Jackie Miller and Zack Miller.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Thursday where an evening song service will be conducted at 7 PM.
