MRS. BEATRICE REEDY
Mrs. Beatrice Reedy, age 54, wife of Virgil Reedy, a former resident of Richlands, having moved to New York less than a year ago, died in the Medical Center Hospital, New York City, Saturday, February 4th, following a lingering illness.
She was born at Cedar Bluff, daughter of John and Jennie Burress and had always lived in the communities of Cedar Bluff and Richlands.
Surviving other than her husband are four daughters, Mrs. Lila Marie Bales, Raven, Mrs. Nettie McClanahan, Mrs. Trula Osborne and Miss Violet Reedy of Richlands. Three sons, Virgil, Jr., Donald and Frank,
all of Richlands. Seven half-sisters, Mrs. Bill Whitt, Mrs. Virgie Harman of War, W. Va., Mrs. Henry Shortridge, Richlands, Mr. Molly Wolf, Big Auger, W. Va., Mrs. Cindy Waldron, and Mrs. James Hooker of Richlands and Mrs. Mary Quesenberry at Baptist Valley. Four half brothers, Jon Burress and Bud Burress of Baptist Valley, Raleigh and Newt Burress of Tazewell. Thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body arrived in Richlands Tuesday by train and was taken to Hurst-Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Richlands Tabernacle with Rev. A. B. Williford and Rev. Lee McGlothlin officiating. Burial in Hankins cemetery.
