Phyllis A. Quesenberry age 87 of Newhall, WV went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 27, 2006 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 27, 1919 in Bandy, VA. She was the daughter of the late Samuel G. and Vanner Altizer. She resided in Newhall for over 50 years. She was retired form the McDowell Co. Board of Education and was of the Pentecostal faith. Her joy in her life was spending time with her family and her beloved cat Templeton. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey G. Quesenberry, her sister Alice Altizer, and three brothers Richard, Sammy and Noah Altizer. Survivors include; Five daughters, Dixie Yates, Shelia Harman, both of Tazewell, VA, Drema Ritchie, Diana Quesenberry and Shelby Quesenberry Sluss all of Newhall, WV Two Sons; Arvin and Michael Quesenberry both of Newhall, WV Nine Grandchildren, Keith Yates, Teresa Yates Spencer, Eddie Harman, Jennifer Quesenberry Page, Heather Ritchie Nunley, Melissa Harman White, Matthew Ritchie, Amber Quesenberry Keene, Adam Quesenberry and Nicholas Christian whom she also loved as her grandchild. Six great-grandchildren; Kristen Spencer, Hannah White, Kylee Spencer, Faith Nunley, Kody Spencer and Noah Keene Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 1:00 p. m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel of Tazewell, VA with Pastor Mary Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens at Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Bobby Bowman, Jason Nunley, Joe White, Alfred Altizer, Jim Lloyd and Bill Lloyd.
