    • Land Sale: 3 December 1849, Worcester County, Maryland; He and his son Joshua Jr. and their wives sell two tracts called "Holloways Conclusion" and "Addition" amounting to 200 acres to his son Daniel.

    • Bought "Girl": 1762, Worcester County, Maryland; In 1762 Joshua bought a "Girl" (why and how old I don't know) from John Mumford
    • Land Purchase: 11 March 1763, Worcester County, Maryland; Bought part of a tract of land known as "Patey's Folly" from his cousin Sam Holloway. It was located at the head of Indian Creek into Assawoman Bay.
    • Purchases: 10 March 1767, Worcester County, Maryland; His purchases included a bridle, a hammer and a silk handkerchief in 1767. and cordage and a felt hat in 15 April 1775.
    • Land Patent: 24 June 1773, Patented "Forrest Grove" (417 1/2 acres) Certificate $965
    • Land Sale: 1774, Worcester County, Maryland; Joshua sold to John Evans 120 a. of Teagues Content and New Addition, located on the southern most side of branch that issues out of St. Martin's River. Wife : Mary gave consent.
    • Fidelity Oath: 9 May 1777, Acquango Hundred, Worcester County, Maryland,; J. Holloway committed for "being at the Tory Camp" or "being at the Erecting of the Kings Standard" who come within the late proclamation and having not taken the Benefit thereof.
    • Fidelity Oath: 10 May 1777, Worcester County, Maryland; J. Holloway of Worcester Co. refused to take the oath of Fidelity and was discharged upon giving bond for his appearance. Signed by Richard Ridgely, Clerk.
    • Bond: 9 May 1779, Worcester County, Maryland; Bond of J. Holloway to state of MD. The condition is that Holloway be of good behavior during the war and make his personal appearances whenever and wherever he is required to do so. Jonathan Parsons, Security.
    • Pvt. Military: 15 July 1780, Worcester County, Maryland,; Private in the Wicomico Battalion, 2nd class, under Captain Shockley. In the same batt'l with Aaron, Moses, and Thomas. These may be brothers (his uncles would have been kind of old, but not impossible that it could have been them either)
    • Tax: 1783, Worcester County, Maryland; Joshua Holloway. 300 acres.
    • Land Patent: 20 November 1793, Worcester County, Maryland; For "Addition" (in notes)
    • Will: 11 August 1804, Worcester County, Maryland; Will was written in 1804 and probated on 9 March 1813

    Birth:
    Joshua (1737) is confused a lot with his father Joshua (1716) On Joshua (1737) DAR records, it states he married unknown Gordy, he didn't. But Gordy may have been his mother's or grandmother's name. There were Gordy's living in the area at the time.

    Died:
    Buried in an unmarked grave. The unmarked grave is located in the Forest Grove area south of the 4 lane , Route 50 (highway or road).

    • Tax List: 1783, Acquango Hundred, Worcester County, Maryland, USA; Land listed: "Dear Harbour" (387 acres) and "Wolf's Den" (16 acres}. Evidently "Dear Harbour" was a large tract, portions of which were owned by different people.
    • Will: 14 August 1790, Worcester County, Maryland; Printed copy in records. Will probated 3 Sep 1790. Wife & son, Milby, named as executors. Wife refused to be Ex. Elijah S. Adkins exec. Widow claims her dower.

    Birth:
    Some say her last name is Highway, but I have no proof of that. There is a Robert Adkins who could have been Stanton's brother, who married Elizabeth Highway, who's father was Thomas Highway. Sarah could belong to that family, but no records of this.

    Sarah's will probated, she left a few minor bequeaths to daughters, her sureties were Philip and Charles Parker.

    • Deed: 4 June 1771, Worcester County, Maryland; The Holloway's did not have land close to their daughter Hannah, so they made a lease with Stanton for land closer to him, where they later moved. It was near Snow Hill & Powellville. (in notes)
    • Will: 1782, Worcester County, Maryland; Will probated on 7 July 1789 Son in law Stanton was called to verify the handwriting of Joseph.
