No docs that I found with her maiden name, but World Families DNA project identifies genetic heritage and the censuses over there was that she was a Rains, and there were a number of Rains/Raynes in the area.

• Fidelity Oath: 10 May 1777, Worcester County, Maryland; J. Holloway of Worcester Co. refused to take the oath of Fidelity and was discharged upon giving bond for his appearance. Signed by Richard Ridgely, Clerk.

Joshua (1737) is confused a lot with his father Joshua (1716) On Joshua (1737) DAR records, it states he married unknown Gordy, he didn't. But Gordy may have been his mother's or grandmother's name. There were Gordy's living in the area at the time.

Buried in an unmarked grave. The unmarked grave is located in the Forest Grove area south of the 4 lane , Route 50 (highway or road).

Joshua married Mary Elizabeth Parsons in 1769 in Worcester County, Maryland. Mary (daughter of John Parsons, Sr. and Mary Smith) was born in 1731 in Somerset County, Maryland; died in 1778? in Worcester County, Maryland. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
