    • (Notes): his "sermon book" and a "common prayer book" and, he kept (mentioned in his will of 1715) a "parcel of old books." As a young man in Virginia, his neighbors depended upon his knowledge and expertise to construct and run a mill.
    • Notes: Nothing is known about his early life or parents. However, a little may be surmised. He was from a well-to-do family who could afford a proper education, he may have been apprenticed to a miller. He was well educated because in later life he cherished

Middleton, 9 yrs later Middleton & his wife Bridget assigned his interest to his (buisness) partner Wm. Willett
    • Headright: 3 October 1671, Northampton County, Virginia, USA; Named as a headright on 3 Oct 1671 at N. side of Chincoteague Creek, Northampton Co, VA. Is shown as Wm. Willett on a patent issued to Capt. Richard Hill for 600 acres for transporting 12 persons. (Headright = Legal grant of land to settlers)
    • Headright: 26 November 1671, Northampton County, Virginia, USA; Named as a headright near Pocomoke, Northampton Co. on a patent issued to Wm Benston for 1,000 acres for trasporting 20 persons. Cavaliers & Pioneers V. II p 95 Patent bk 6

    • Will: 23 December 1694, Accomack County, Virginia; In his will of 23 Dec 1694 in Accomack County, Roger Ternall, wife Ann, named William Willett, Richard Hill, John Lewis & Larance Rily to guard & protect my children in their minority.
    • Will: 17 March 1719, Accomack County, Virginia; Gave wife use of 1/2 plantation & personal property for life, then to be divided between my children. To son Ambrose planta where I live & 110 acres. To daughter Ellzabeth 145 acres adjcent same. To daughter Catherine 143 acres adjcent Elizabeth. .......
    • Will: 17 March 1719; purchased of John Cary. Son Ambrose & grandson William Exrs. Francis Young, Thomas Rily, Francis Ayres & Thomas Simson, Jr. overseers. Witt: Jacob D. Litchfield, John Rily. Robert Ternall.
    • Will: 17 March 1719; To daughter Ann 120 acres purchased of Francis Ayres. To son John the other part of land purchased of Francis Ayres, supposed to be 60 acres. To grandson William Willett, son of Ambrose, mill & 2 acres given me by Richard Hill deceased, also 12 acres .....
