• Bounded out : 17 April 1672, Accomack County, Virginia; Mother Ann bounds out sons Alex and John (probably unable to care for them after being disowned by her husband Miles) John is bound to William Anderson until age 21.
• Deed: 19 Aug 1673, Accomack County, Virginia; William Anderson gave to John and Alexander, sons of Miles and Ann Gray, two cow calves and their increase, which would be divided when the oldest child (John) attained the age of 10 years
• Land: 1685, Accomack County, Virginia; Roger Miles & his wife Ann deeded 200 acres to Ann Gray for life and then it was to go to her son John Gray (Whitelaw, p. 1124). This was land that Ann & Miles Gray had deeded to R. Miles 2 yrs prior, which they deeded back to Ann.
• Oath: 28 November 1689, Somerset County, Maryland; John Gray, inhabitant of Somerset Co, MD, along with many others, signed a loyalty oath to the King (Old Somerset, p. 349)
• Land Sale: 18 Mar 1693, Accomack County, Virginia; John Gray, Planter, and wife Bethula sold William Lewis 100 acres in the woods between Gargaphia and Gilford. (Southern half of tract A116 that belonged to mother, Ann Gray)
• Land Sale: 4 Aug 1697, Accomack County, Virginia; John Gray, Planter, for 5000 lbs tobacco paid by Richard Price100 acres in the woods between Gargaphia and Gilford Creek, part of 200 acres granted to Roger Miles and Ann his wife, set over to Ann Gray "mother of me" by a deed dated 17 Nov 1685
• Granted Admin: 3 March 1702, Accomack County, Virginia; John Gray was granted administration of the estate of "his mother Ann Abbot" (deceased). Mr. Robert Norton and Mr. Gervas Baggaly became security for Gray's administration.
• Petitions Court: 3 Mar 1702, Accomack County, Virginia; John Gray petitioned the court for the administration of the estate of his mother, Ann Abbott (Acc Co Orders, 1697-1703, p. 142).

21 November 1717 will proved in court. Miles mentions a wife in his will, but does not give her name. So he must have remarried after Ann.

Miles married Anne Francis in 1663 in Hungars Parish, Northampton County, Virginia. Anne was born in 1640 in England; died in February 1703 in Accomack County, Virginia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

• Land Grant: 16 March 1669, Accomack County, Virginia; Ann Francis is on the list of persons Mrs. Ann Toft transported into the colony years before, for which she was granted a certificate for 2,200 acres
• Petitions Court: 1671, Accomack County, Virginia; Petitions the court for support and ends up bounding two of her sons out, son John is bounded out until age 21 to William Anderson. Why Miles is not providing for them is unclear, even if he disowns Ann he should be caring for his children.

• Land Sale: 17 May 1672, Accomack County, Virginia; Anne GRAY, the wife of Miles GRAY, consented to the sale of 400 acres near Ohliddy (sp) Creek that her husband had granted to Timothy COE. Signed 21 Apr 1672 by Anne GRAY Witnesses: William ANDERSON & Owen MURPHEY

Unsure if Francis was her last name or middle. Francis is listed in the records. (Also, female spelling is Frances, but records spell it Francis in places) She was a servant of Ann Toft who transported her to the Colonies on unknown date.

Died:
John Gray granted admin or mother Ann's estate on 3 March 1703. Capt. Richard Drumond, John Parker, William Hudson and Thomas Ryley were ordered to inventory and appraise the estate of Ann Abbot and report to the next court
