    • Will: 20 September 1717, Somerset County, Maryland; Son-in-law William Turpin, grandson John Turpin, godson John Leach grand daus. Sarah Beauchamp, Mary Turpin & Sarah Coventon, named in will. Looks like he leaves son John 1 shilling? Hard to read, not sure what they means. Printed will, in notes.

    Died:
    21 November 1717 will proved in court. Miles mentions a wife in his will, but does not give her name. So he must have remarried after Ann.

    Miles married Anne Francis in 1663 in Hungars Parish, Northampton County, Virginia. Anne was born in 1640 in England; died in February 1703 in Accomack County, Virginia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    • Disowned : 18 February 1667, Accomack County, Virginia; Ann, wife of Miles Gray, admitted adultrey with John Hancock from Apr 1665 to 2 Mar 1666 and asks husband's forgiveness. SEE NOTES
    • Land Grant: 16 March 1669, Accomack County, Virginia; Ann Francis is on the list of persons Mrs. Ann Toft transported into the colony years before, for which she was granted a certificate for 2,200 acres
    • Petitions Court: 1671, Accomack County, Virginia; Petitions the court for support and ends up bounding two of her sons out, son John is bounded out until age 21 to William Anderson. Why Miles is not providing for them is unclear, even if he disowns Ann he should be caring for his children.
    • Note: 17 April 1672, Accomack County, Virginia; Permission granted by Miles Gray for Ann to leave the county (apparently, though all their troubles they still have children together & she joins him in MD, although, he apparently isn't treating her well, as she takes him to court in MD for support of her
    • Land Sale: 17 May 1672, Accomack County, Virginia; Anne GRAY, the wife of Miles GRAY, consented to the sale of 400 acres near Ohliddy (sp) Creek that her husband had granted to Timothy COE. Signed 21 Apr 1672 by Anne GRAY Witnesses: William ANDERSON & Owen MURPHEY

    • Will: 7 November 1694, Accomack County, Virginia; Wife Ann and named Extr. in the will of John Abbot Sr. He also named Samuel Thomas and gave him a cow. Samuel was probably his wife Ann's grandson

    Birth:
    Unsure if Francis was her last name or middle. Francis is listed in the records. (Also, female spelling is Frances, but records spell it Francis in places) She was a servant of Ann Toft who transported her to the Colonies on unknown date.

    Died:
    John Gray granted admin or mother Ann's estate on 3 March 1703. Capt. Richard Drumond, John Parker, William Hudson and Thomas Ryley were ordered to inventory and appraise the estate of Ann Abbot and report to the next court
