      Mrs. Ella Rivers Mitchell Burress, 61, wife of Byrd P. Burress, of Rt. 1, Cedar Bluff, died Saturday, Oct. 17, in a Richlands hospital following a long illness. Born in North Tazewell, she was a daughter of the late Zack and Hannah Sparks Mitchell. She was a life long resident of Tazewell County and had lived in the Baptist Valley section of Cedar Bluff for the past 14 years. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Richlands. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Betty) Holmes of Richlands and Mrs. Joe (Margaret) Addison of Rt. 1, Cedar Bluff; one son, Chief Warrant officer Raymond A. Burress, stationed with the U.S. Navy in Chestertown, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Leslie Sparks of Rt. 1, North Tazewell; five brothers, Henry Mitchell of Edgewood, Md., Hobert Mitchell of Churchville Md., Fielden Mitchell of Airville, Pa., Thomas Mitchell of Council, Va. and Cecil Mitchell of Drill, Va., and one granddaughter and five grandsons. Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Untied Pentecostal church with the Rev. John R. Gooslin and Rev. George Durham officiating. Burial followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill. Pallbearers were: Harold, Darrel, Don, Joe, Bobby, and Junior Mitchell. Hurst Scott Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.1 _TITLE Obituary
