      Vinton Victor Christian, 77, of Rt. 1, Cedar Bluff. Va., died Thursday in a Richlands, Va hospital after a long illness. Born in Pounding Mill, Va., he was a son of the late Charles C and Eliza Lawson Christian. A lifelong resident of the Cedar Bluff area, he was mine foreman for the Jacob' Fork Coal Co. in Endwell until his retirement in 1964. He served with the U. S. Army 32nd Infantry Division and was veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church, the Cedar Bluff Masonic Lodge No 260, the Royal Arch Chapter inTazewell and was deputy grand master of the 45th district in 1907. He also was a charter member of the Cedar Bluff Order of Eastern Star Chapter 158 and was the second worthy grand patron of the chapter. Survivors include his widow. Mrs. Pearl Beavers Christian; four daughters, June Christian of the home, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Huckleberry of Decatur , Ga., Mrs. Claude (Violet) Hampton of Wollowick, Ohio and Mrs. Robert (Carol) Burress of Painesville, Ohio; three sons, Allen Christian of Tazevvell, Victor Christian Jr., of Grandview, Mo., and Phillip Christian of Willowick; two brothers, H. M. Christian of Tazewell and Estel Christian of Cedar Bluff; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands with Rev. Walter L. Gates officiating. Burial will follow in Grecnhills Memory Gardens at Claypool. Hill, Va. Members of the Cedar Bluff Masonic Lodge No. 260 will serve as pallbearers and will conduct graveside rites. Members of the Cedar Bluff OES No. 158 will carry flowers. Friends may calf at the funeral home today from 5 p.m.
