    • Edward Hale, after helping his brother Thomas get settled in his new home on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge. Recrossed the mountains in 1779. He served with the Militia during the Revolution, taking part in the engagements at Wetzell's Mills and Guilford Court House in 1781, and later participated in numerous Indian fights. He became a Militia lieutenant in 1790 and a captain in 1794. He eventually settled in Wolf Creek with wife Patsy.
