    She was the daughter of Eugene N. and Sally M. Burroughs. She was of the Methodist faith.

    Preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Ireson and Mary Martin and a brother James Burroughs.

    She was a resident of Bristol, VA for a time until she moved to New Jersey and lived there several years before retiring in Florida.

    Survivors include: her husband, Dale of Florida; three children, Brenda Vacarro, of Waldorf, MD; Judy Goldfarb of Florida; Richard F. Presley and wife Michelle, of Soddy Daisy, TN; three sisters, Gladys Johnson and husband Charles of Richmond, VA; Nancy Houston and husband Ted of Port Richey, FL; Margaret Hobbs and husband Robert of Bristol, TN; two brothers, H.J. Burroughs and his wife Mildred, of Bristol, TN and E.K. Burroughs; Nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services to be conducted at Susong Cemetery, Bristol, VA, on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jack Stevens presiding.

    Essie married Richard Franklin Presley on 2 Feb 1946 in Bluefield, Mercer, West Virginia, and was divorced on 2 Mar 1964 in Fairfax, Virginia. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
