    MRS. JOHN MCKEE -- Mrs. John McKee, aged 56, died at her home in Raven early last Thursday night. Death was attributed to heart trouble. Mrs. McKee was sitting by the fire about 9 o'clock when she suddenly became ill and fell from her chair dead. She had been completely blind in both eyes for the past 4 or 5 years. Interment was in cemetery on Horton Ridge, a few miles west of Raven. Surviving her is a husband and several children of this place.

    Mrs. Nathan C. (Frances Louise) Guess, 85, of Box 1A Maybeury, formerly of Pageton, died in a Bluefield hospital Monday after a long illness.

    She was born in Raven, Va and was a daughter of the late John and Geneva McGhee.

    She had been a resident of Maybeury for the past 22 years, having formerly lived at Pageton and Switchback. She was a member of the Maybeury Church of God.

    Survivors in addition to her husband include 5 daughters, Mrs. Juanita Labroski and Mrs. Ralph (Geraldine) Lafon, both of Princeton, Mrs. Marcella Eanes of Switchback, Mrs. Ruby Gauden of Streetsboro, Ohio and Mrs. Ken (Joan) Toney of Marion. NC; two sons, Nathan C. Guess Jr. of Tazewell, Va and William E. Guess of Cleveland Ohio; One sister Mrs. Dixie Sprull of Baltimore, Md. 24 Grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 AM at Cravens-shires Funeral Chapel at Bluewell with Rev. T.L Sizemore and Rev. C.C Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Princeton. Grandsons will serve as pall bearers.

Born in Russell County, Va. he was a son of the late John W. and Geneva Anderson McGhee. He was a lifelong resident of the Horton Ridge Section of Russell County and was a retired miner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Caroline McGhee. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Louise) Hill of Raven, Va. and Mrs. Lion (Estia) Champman of Swords Creek, Va.; three sons, Curtis Floyd McGhee of Raven, George McGhee Jr. of Richlands, Va and Johnny William McGhee of New Carliske, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Louis Guess of Mayberry, Mrs. Dixie Spruell of Millersville, Md and Mrs. Mary Smity of Zephryshill, FL; two brothers, Clarence McGhee of Swords Creek, Va and Elbert McGhee of Baltimore Md; 21 grandchilden and two step grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2PM at the Pine Creek Holiness Church with Rev. Ancil Childress, Rev. Acie Blankenship and Rev. Carl Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in the McGhee Family cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The body has been removed to the residence of Curtis McGhee at Raven where friends may call. Tazewell County Funeral home in Cedar Bluff is in charge of Funeral arrangements.

Born June 23, 1940 in Raven, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Edward and Anna Palmer McGhee. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church on Big A Mountain. She had formerly been employed as a seamstress at Honaker Mills, worked in the kitchen at Hardees and was a Production Operator at Lear. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Roberta Faye Miller; one brother, Clarence Edward McGhee, Jr. and two sisters, Jettie McGhee and Nellie McGhee.

    Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years and one month, Edward M. Miller of the home; three children, James Russell Miller and wife, Lois of Abingdon, Virginia, Patricia Ann Plaster and husband, Richard of Swords Creek, Virginia and Dana Joyce Hess of Honaker, Virginia; one grandson, Sean Paul Plaster of Swords Creek, Virginia; four sisters, Audrey Helbert and Carol Byrd both of Richlands, Virginia, Betty Osborne of Lebanon, Virginia and Shelby Perkins of Honaker, Virginia; one brother, Gary McGhee of Swords Creek, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and her church family also survive.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Virgil Musick and Rev. Claude Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia.

    In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, William H. (Bill) Wilson; one daughter, Tammy Lorraine Wilson; one son, William Curtis Wilson; granddaughter, Heather Lorraine Stallard; and two brothers, Roy Lee Helbert and Ralph Helbert.
    In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Gail Sargent of Cedar Bluff; two sisters, Barbara Coleman and husband Dennis of Cedar Bluff and Beverly Botos and husband Robert of Columbus, Ohio; special friend, Johnny DeLomas of Cedar Bluff; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors also survive.
